Note
A self-controlled case series on 55,114 HPV-vaccinated girls
A population-based analysis of public data on 55,114 girls who received the first dose (39,488 the second), using a self-controlled case series design, which compares each person's risk within and outside the exposure window and so removes fixed between-person confounding.

Design
- Question. Whether HPV vaccination in Colombia is associated with the risk of incident chronic disease, using public data.
- Design. Self-controlled case series: each case acts as her own control, so time-invariant differences between people — the usual confounders in vaccine safety studies — cancel out by construction.
- Estimation. Conditional Poisson regression of event rates in the exposure window against baseline time.
- Data. Public, population-based records; 55,114 girls with a first dose and 39,488 with a second.
Status
Thesis in Spanish, titled Association between HPV vaccination in Colombia and the risk of incident chronic disease: a population-based analysis of public data, with an English summary available on request. The findings belong in the thesis with their confidence intervals; this note describes the design.
